Broadway Beginnings
About Broadway Beginnings
When their previous child care center closed after nearly four years due to financial sustainability challenges, the team behind Broadway Beginnings couldn’t imagine leaving the families they had served behind. Having both started as teachers and worked their way into leadership roles, they found a new way to keep their mission alive by opening a home-based program and continuing their work together. Broadway Beginnings is deeply committed to providing high-quality, dependable child care on the north side of Springfield, an area where accessible child care options are greatly needed. Through the Family Child Care Champion Program, Broadway Beginnings received support and a $2,500 mini grant to help the program grow and move toward state licensure. Families at Broadway Beginnings benefit from the team’s extensive background and hands-on experience in early childhood education. Alyssa Bell holds a degree in Early Childhood Education, previously served as a center director, and is a graduate of the MO-SECA program. The program’s owner previously served as an Assistant Director and Food Program Coordinator and is a graduate of both the Kids Win Missouri Early Care and Education Fellowship and the MO-SECA program.
Together, they combine their experience with the Missouri Early Learning Standards and a foundation in the Conscious Discipline framework to create a nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Broadway Beginnings is currently at full capacity but offers drop-in care when space allows while continuing through the state licensing process. The team is excited to continue growing, achieve full licensure, and eventually welcome even more children and families into the program. At Broadway Beginnings, the goal is simple: to provide a place where children feel safe, supported, and part of a family.
